Abstraction: MINECON EARTH

Update: Abstraction: MINECON EARTH is available again! During the Minecon Stream, Sept 29th it’ll be available again on the marketplace! In the meantime, check out the download links below for the hot new java version too, it’ll be on realms in due time too. How cool is that? It has a whole new 2018 logo as well as the old one there for both to explore and 32 tasty colored blocks to find.

Do you ever look at a logo and think… I could make a map out of that. Well that’s exactly what I did with the MINECON EARTH 2017 logo. With cooperation with Mojang I was allowed to make this map and release it for free on the Marketplace! But it is only available for a limited time… so get it while you can!

Just like all the abstraction maps, this features a color monument for you to complete. Just go ahead and find all the chests with colored blocks in them… or just make them yourself! You can use any method you like to complete the monument, just as long as it’s complete. Actually that part is optional too. It’s really just about doing whatever you want on this floating cube in the sky. Enjoy!

Jig’s Guide: Redstone Basics – Marketplace Release (MCPE/Win10)

And now it’s time for something completely different. Back in the day when I began playing Minecraft I started a youtube channel and I loved making tutorials. I was making a lot of minecart stations at the time and they were super fun. After that I started making tutorials just on various redstone things in general and those early days were some of my favorites in Minecraft. This map was a blast to make as it took me back to those times. This map is for those who know nothing about redstone. If you’ve been intimidated by the sheer number of devices, or maybe just never took the time, this is your best time to jump in.

The tutorial is fully voiced and encourages you to get your hands dirty in a safe compelling environment. You don’t have to be worried about breaking things because it’s structured in a way to protect the important stuff, but still allow you the freedom to experiment with your tools. It also includes an endless sandstone world which has a couple of the more complex contraptions with annotated signs for you to disect.

Finally there are dozens of test rooms that contain every single Minecraft redstone component for you to play with. Never used an observer block? What exactly is a daylight sensor? Check them all out and get hands on directly instead of just reading pages of wikis. This map was going to release during Halloween because we all know what people find truly scary. Learning redstone however, doesn’t have to be scary, and you can learn it here.

Abstraction: GRID – Marketplace Release (MCPE/Win10)

Here is the third and final (for now) map in the Abstraction series! This time it’s a world all about grids. As previously mentioned these are survival worlds morphed into something a little bit different. You can’t play this map the same as a regular survival world, the ores are in different places, there are spawners around and dangers in unexpected places.

GRID sort of reminds me of Tron where the world is made up of a wire mesh… thats the inspiration and I think it’s pretty cool! It’s lots of fun to explore and the dangers are many from both a navigation and mental point of view. You can’t just walk where you want to go and will have to bridge around. It gets worse, floating water, floating sand, update near these and the world can fall apart. Just another wrinkle in the world. It isn’t as easy as it looks.

Abstraction: SOLAR – Marketplace Release (MCPE/Win10)

Venture into the expanse of space with Abstraction: SOLAR. Tired of boring old survival spawns? Sick of seeing a pretty build that doesn’t actually add anything to the WAY you play your survival except for some RP? Check out Abstraction: SOLAR. In the Abstraction series, I twist and morph vanilla worlds into something you cannot play the same way, this one is all about space!

This challenge survival map is made up of a number of planets. This creates quite the dilemma if you were wanting to complete the color monument because things are not as they seem and you’re going to be spending a long time bridging out from planet to planet. Some are filled with water, some filled with ore, some completely made of lava… but how to get to the center of those is half the fun. Grab your spacesuit and get into it!
