The Adventure Multiplex 2: The Village. Map Release

Welcome to the sequel to one of the longest Adventure Maps ever made. Adventure Multiplex 2: The Village was constructed by over 75 designers who had 1 task: Create a building that I can put together in a huge landscape to construct a village of epic proportions, adventure, puzzles and fun. What resulted is this beast of a map. With anywhere between 10-15+ hours of gameplay and tonnes of variety, you’ll be hard pressed to find a map like this anywhere else… Unless you count the first Adventure Multiplex! Just watch the trailer and see for yourself. I have made every effort to complete bug testing but with a map this size there are bounds to be a few that get through the cracks, please let me know if you find any. Thanks!

Adventure Multiplex 2 Release Date Announced!

The release of Adventure Multiplex 2: The Village is just around the corner!


After far too long, and a little too much work, it’s almost complete. It looks great, it plays great and most of all, it’s long as hell. I estimate the time to be comparible to the first one but we’ll see how people go before I start posting times this time.

Here are a few pics for you to mull over too, one of Average Avenue and the other is how the underside looks. Pretty cool!

 

Adventure Multiplex 2 Submissions. A Progress Update

Adventure Multiplex has always been a series (can I call it that yet?) that takes a while to build. At least it was on the first one. After taking weeks to final test all the entries from people who aren’t always map makers, there are usually lots of bugs that slip through. If I said “Yep your entry is good” and then I found a bug afterwards, then I fix it myself. If you didn’t know, working on other peoples redstone and mechanics is hell. Everyone has a different way of doing the same thing and while I am pretty proficient in redstone, spawners and a host of other special effects, some of the stuff in the Multiplex 2 are the likes I haven’t seen before. So it’s been a lot of learning, and a lot of fixing. Recently however all the entries got into state in which they are as bug free as I think they will be and I was finally able to get onto terraforming.

I’ve never done terraforming before.

More learning.

Not only that, but there has been a lot of other things going on in real life that have slowed things down. As you most already know, map making isn’t a job, I make hardly any money on it, so when push comes to shove in real life, real life will always win. Slowly but surely I have been finding some time to get it done though.

Current ETA is by the end of the month… but I did say that last month. At least know it will be out at some point, the project isn’t scrapped and you should definitley be looking forward to it.

In the mean time, why not watch one of the excellent Eronev 2 let’s plays that have been popping up recently?

Adventure Multiplex 2 Submissions NOW CLOSED!

We made it to the end, the deadline has passed and now no more new submissions will be counted for the adventure multiplex 2. It looks like we got over 80 but due to bugged encounters and some other issues I wont know the final number just yet. Now comes the fun part of testing. It will take some time for all the encounters to be properly tested and then implemented into the huge collaborative map that will be the multiplex 2 so please be patient.

The winners of the competition will be contacted on completion of the map (or maybe earlier) by the contact information that was provided.

Thanks for everyone that submitted an entry, I can’t wait for people to play this thing, it’s going to be huge and awesome filled with incredible constructions from a tonne of people. Look out for it.
