Long time no see! To be honest, I was kinda out of the Minecraft thing since Minecon. That Marketplace stuff looks interesting, so who knows maybe I’ll try to get in, but that doesn’t make any of my old maps unplayable if you just downgrade your client! You might even see some familiar friends updated for MCPE. In the mean time, a long time ago, I worked on a project with my best Minecraft bud rsmalec. I finished my part and then he took the server down and I never saw it again. To be honest I was worried it would never come out, but it did! It’s called “Perhaps, The Last.” and it’s a story based adventure, takes like 2-3 hours of play. I did an LP of the beta. So enjoy!
ey guyz. Getting many people here trying to download maps, many of which don’t work in 1.11. It’s a shame but the reality that maps break when Minecraft updates certain commands that were once supported but the standard changes. At this point I’m still waiting for tools to allow me to update those past projects easily, in addition to new projects. There are 2 more maps I want to finish and release, but each time Minecraft updates, and they seem to be more frequent now than ever, they hit a roadblock and I have to fix/update things within them. Anyway in the mean time I was on 2 panels at Minecon 2016. One all about map making and one all about storytelling with a few buds. Watch them if you want a sneak peek on at least one of the new projects which is proving quite difficult to update to 1.11 but I’m still working on it.
Not dead yet.
Mediafire, my host, is telling me I’ve served over 10 million downloads. I find that unbelievable. Either Mediafire is full of it, or it really has allowed me to reach over 10 million people with my content. I know it’s a high number, but that high? I don’t know. Either way it’s thrilling, so much so I’ve decided to put a little screenshot right here!
Going on with the theme of 10. Minecraft 1.10 came out (in a hurry it seems) and for the first time in a looooooong time, I don’t have to do much of anything. All my 1.9 maps work with 1.10 which means less work for me, and more fun for you!
Anyway yay. I’m going to get back to working on some new stuff though. bb.
I wasn’t even watching and BOOM 130,000 downloads. Sped on by 100,000 like it was nothing. It took Eronev Mansion Adventure almost a year for its first 100k and people said that was a popular map. To hit 100,000 in only a few weeks is amazing and we’re well on our way to more. It’s true though that the downloads are dropping off like a rock now. The B-Team has ended their LP which is a shame, Captain Sparklez own town was brought back from the brink of destruction. Meola keeps on trucking on and Breny Beast is one of the few to get the Rainbow Brite town hall!
Point is, that fewer and fewer are picking it up and you know what that means… time to get out a new map! But of course things take time. I’m not a map making machine like coldfusiongaming and my work often interferes with the process. So who knows when the next project will come out. I’m hoping before Christmas but who knows, I think I have another idea that I might release for Christmas if I get around to it… but who knows. I might just end up sitting down and playing smash bros until the end of the year. Such is the life of a map maker who has no obligation to do anything :p
Anyway, not really sure why I felt the need to update, very few people actually read the boxes and latest news but I thought for posterities sake it might be a good idea to let people know where I was and what I was doing. Oh yeah, I’ll probably still release a behind the scenes of Simburbia at some point. I did some prep work already so it’s totally going to come out! Until then, here is a little teaser for the map I’m knee deep in development with right now.
